putting your house on the market - a few questions??
we are think of selling our home
should we have a few different real estate agents in to look at the house? what they think it will sell for, commission, ect.
i worried if i get Multiple agents in and only pick one, will the others get mad??
should we rent it instead for sell?
also, we know agent who is based out of a different town, does it make sense to go with her for a less of a commission or no becuase she doesn't know the area or have clients looking in our area

You can do this if there isn't one agent you already want to list with. Just be honest with them that you're "trying people out" and go in with the prior knowledge of what other comparable homes in your area are selling for, so you can recognize it if someone tries to BS you on what it should be listed at. And choose the one you feel is honest, makes you feel comfortable, and is willing to work hard to sell your home.

They won't get mad if you're honest - it's business. But they might try to get you to change your mind. They are salespeople, after all
should we rent it instead for sell?
Do you want to be a landlord? Can you afford to rent this one out AND buy a second home? Do you want to sell the house for a price you won't realistically get in this market? Do you need to be living somewhere else quickly? This one's really up to you, based on all of the above and more.

Weigh the pros and cons. What I would do depends on HOW far out of town she is.
Good luck!

Re: putting your house on the market - a few questions??
we currently have our co-op on the market. We just renewed with a new agent. The first agent we picked because it was the lowest commission that we found. We didn't find her to be agressive at all, so when time came to renew, we picked the people that we thought had the best plan, which came at higher commission. Also, they are not located in our town (which isn't desireable since they have a copy of the key in case people want to see it if we're not around) but they were able to leave our house keys at a courtesy real estate agent right near our house, so it is easy to pick up the key for viewings. It's a tight market, you have to be really well priced to sell right now.
