Q about stimming for IVF
Do you have to go into the office for bw and sono everyday? I was kind of thinking you would but the nurse only noted that on the first day of my calendar. I am paranoid about overstimming since our only issue is MF.

Re: Q about stimming for IVF
depends on how you are responding to the meds. They didn't have me coming in everyday until near the end. But I was responding really slow, they had me on the max dose of Gonal-F and needed to watch me carefully.
Last cycle, I started my stims on a Friday, they had me come in Monday, then again on Wednesday and then Friday and Sunday. After my Sunday visit, I was there every day until the day before my retrieval.

ARe you LIIVF?
They only note the first day because they call you and leave you voicemail instructions once they get the results. I pretty much went in every other day.

Yup, ok that makes sense but I asked yesterday and my office visit is in the am and my meds are given in the pm so they won't really know anything the first day.

Right but they will tell you how much to start and when to come back. They need to do it the first day so they get a baseline to compare the progress to

Re: Q about stimming for IVF
I think it depends on the Dr's protocol. Once DR. I saw had me in every other day, I know some Dr's want to see you everyday. It probably depends on the individual as well. BOTB

Re: Q about stimming for IVF
Make sure that you drink a ton of water and gatorade. If you workout, only do walking and yoga (and I think you would need to stay away from inversion exercises too, shoulder stand etc...). No running or bouncing. You will be fine. I thought you had to go in every day also for monitoring. When I started I think I had about 4/5 days from day3 to when I had to go back. Then it was every other day, then when you are close it's everyday. Luckily its only bad for one week.

Re: Q about stimming for IVF
I have 2 1/2 weeks of BCPs left and I am already scared. I am a hard core exersizer, running 5 miles about 5x a week. I am sure gonna feel like a cow w/o doing that and stim bloat.

Re: Q about stimming for IVF
You are like me. I've been an avid exerciser all my life. Since I've been on the injectible meds I had completely stopped and now I have no motivation to start. Though last cycle I lost weight because I ate really really good. Lots of green steamed veggie and no sugar except for what is in real fruit (and that yucky gatorade). I keep thinking I have 7 days to get back in shape to hold me over (for hopefully 10 months). But, it's not working. My arms are floppy and that isn't even motivating me. But, I've been on injects for 4 cycles now and I'm very careful with what I'm doing. Its worth the sacrifice (there is always after to get back in shape-wonder if that will motivate me).

Re: Q about stimming for IVF
I wasn't on any excercise restrictions during my stimulation phase. I brisk walked/jogged every other day when I was stimming. I was on restriction though after my transfer.
With the gatoride thing... I hate gatorade b/c of the sugar, so I would heavily dilute it with water and it seemed to do the trick.

Re: Q about stimming for IVF
MY RE has said that he will not restirct me until after my transfer but I know I will try to restrict myself b/c of the "what if" factor. I just think intense running is probably not the best thing for me. I exercised with DD until they put me on bedrsest at 29 weeks (I had no idea that I had any issues). It took me a while to motivate after she was born basically b.c she was a terrible sleeper at night But I did not run my first 10k until after she was born. So you can always get back in shape after the baby, thats what I am telling myself again anyway. I rthink brisk walking/jogging is probably good to keep up. I hope I am able to do something.
