Q- for those who went from SUV to mini-van....

What if anything do you miss about your SUV ?

I don't know which route we are going to go, we either need an SUV w/ a 3rd row ( and I guess I want a bigger one because I dont want to give up trunk space) ...OR a mini-van (which I am having an internal struggle about Chat Icon )

Either way, we will not be buying brand new, if that matters...

Thanks !

ETA- How does it handle in the snow? Do you feel as safe in it as your SUV ?

I had a Jeep Cherokee and now have a Chrysler Town and Country. There is nothing I don't like about having a minivan.

I love the automatic doors.
I love that Jack can still climb in under Tyler's carseat.
I have plenty of room for two strollesr AND packages.
There is two TV's in case of emergencies (I think I've used them like three times)

I didn't miss anything going from a Highlander to a Sienna. The minivan is just so much more convenient and comfortable!

The sliding doors are so awesome, especially in a parking lot. My favorite feature.

I have had a mini van for 4 years. I think it handles great in the snow. I drove in the snow during this last storm and had no issues. No sliding. I fishtailed in my suv more then once in the snow....It has a wide wheel base. Get all year tires for it...It makes a difference...

I'd like to know this as well. I believe the Toyota Sienna is the only one with AWD, which surprised me. Anyone..please correct me if I'm wrong.

I had that internal struggle and fought the Mini van. Has SUV's for years. BUT love that everyone fits comfy, 2 strollers, auto doors adn drives excellent in snow. I have the Kia Sodona.

I don't miss anything. I love my minivan. Power doors are the best. My kids can climb in and out easily and climb up into their car seats on their own as well.

ETA: I have the Kia Sedona as well and it drives great in the snow. Haven't had any issues. I get great gas mileage on it too. 18-19 mpg.

I went from the ford escape to the town and country. We still have the escape, but DH drives it now. I don't miss anything. I LOVE the mini-van although I still feel like an old lady driving it Chat Icon Personally I think the escape is better in the snow, but the mini-van isn't too bad. I chose the mini-van because I refuse to drive a big huge SUV.

I went from a Chevy Trailblazer to a Sienna.

I was sooooo set against a mini-van but finally realized it was our best option. I love it. LOVE the sliding doors. DS1 climbs into his seat. I fit a double stroller, pack n play and 2 travel seats in the back and still have room for bags and stuff.

Last weeks snow was my first experience with it and it handled great.
