Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
Clearly pippa has become an overnight star in large part b/c of the gorgeous (and very form fitting) gown she wore when all the world was watching. The attention she received that day is usually reserved only for the bride.
So my question for y'all just b/c I'm curious is - would you put your maid of honor or bm's in that gown on YOUR wedding day?
I'll start - hell no.

No, I mean - would you put your MOH or BM in a tight, sexy, all white gown

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
I probably would.. I'm very untraditional though. In fact, my bridesmaids picked out their own dresses - I didn't even see them beforehand! I left them to their own devices. I'm a strange bird, though....can't go by me!

I wouldn't care. Actually didn't. My girls were not competition. They shared my day and they were tall and sexy. I am petite. I don't feed into the hype.

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
I just looked at the pics, b/c I could not recall the dress. Other than it being form fitting, it doesn't come off to me as sexy in anyway. She is very thin, but I don't find her shape sexy nor do I find that dress sexy. I don't care for the sleeves (they seem very reserved IMO) and I also don't care for that cowl neck (hate them).
So would I put my MOH in that dress? If my MOH had a similar thin build to Pippa, sure I would. If she was buxomy....that might change the whole look and I might not. But I would never put my MOH in white. That would be just for me.

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
I would not care - I don't like for all the attention to be on me anyway, and as long as she didn't get wasted and sleep with the best man in the middle of the dance floor, I am fine with whatever she wears She really did look gorgeous!

The style dress, sure! Not in white though. From what I read about the royal wedding, it's tradition for the MOH to wear white.

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
my bridal party picked their own dresses. they were all married with at least two kids. none of them would have picked that type of dress... but if it would have made them feel good, why not.
next time i get hitched, it will be a vegas wedding. not sure if i'll do a MOH... maybe our children will be our witnesses and that's it

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
I asked my MOH to pick a dress that she felt she would like to wear. I only asked for a particular color.
Just because she was my MOH did not mean she had to wear a potato bag.
In no way did she take away from my wedding. In no way did Pippa take away from her sister. I think the dress was modern, fitted her and at the scale of the wedding (1900 people in the Church), I don't think the white dress was competing with Kate at all. It was not revealing in any way. Yes, it was fitted but not skin tight. The flower girls wore white. I think the whole look looked fresh and light.

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
I would have no issue.
My mom wore off white to my wedding. I picked the dress and she looked great.
No one is mistaking the MOH from the bride or anyone else who is wearing white.
The bride is the bride..she looked beautiful and Kate's dress was perfect for a princess.

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
IMO Pippa did NOT steal the show. Kate looked so stunning that there was no way she was going to be upstaged. I'm assuming Pippa's BM dress was picked out by Kate, and I'm sure Kate approved her evening dress as well.
When I got married I wanted my bridal party to look hot as hell.

Never in a white gown, but if they wanted tight and sexy they could've had it. I let my BMs choose their dress- I only chose the color/designer.

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
I wouldn't want the dress to be white. But I would let my MOH wear whatever she wanted and felt comfortable in. Truthfully, no one can really steal the attention from the bride. At my wedding the only persons attention I wanted was DH's and he wasn't looking at anyone else. Pippa looked beautiful, but my focus was still on Kate. Especially a royal wedding where the bride is becoming a princess. And it was probably a relief for Kate to have some of the attention off of her.

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
I wouldn't have had a problem with it. I let my BMs pick their dress...I wanted them to feel comfortable in what they were wearing and look good. Would I have picked a white dress for them..probably not but its not customary here. In the UK however, I don't think its uncommon to wear white/off white.
I definitely don't think Pippa stole the show or took away from her sister at all though. She looked beautiful but at the end of the day, her sister, the bride, married a prince! Kate wins!

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
Probably, my MOH's were my sisters so I would feel competitive or jealous, I'm still the bride no matter what IMO. The bride is who matters no matter what anyone else wears.

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
My BMs did wear fitted, sexy dresses. No one takes attention away from the bride ever, no matter how good they look.
I wouldn't choose white, but I would pick a gown like Pippa wore -- ONLY if my BMs could look that good in it.

agree- ESPECIALLY in a wedding like this. I mean Kate was marrying royalty. Becoming a Princess. All eyes were on her regardless!

My bridesmaids were in wedding dresses that we had made in white and they were hot, so yes.
