I live in Coram, and teach at the high school in Longwood.
Longwood is NOT the best, but far from the worst.
The elementary scholls are very good.

I think there are better parts of Coram than others, and I believe parts of Coram are Middle Country SD, which is decent, and parts are Longwood, which is not so good.

I live in a nice part of Coram, and my kids would go to Longwood.
You want to stay away from Gorden Heights.
Most towns have good and bad areas.

There are a few superintendents in my classes, and they've had some bad stories about Longwood...I wouldn't want my kids there if I had a choice.

I think they were referring to HS problems.

There are good and bad areas of most every town. That said, I would stay away from Gordon Heights and some of the areas that border Middle Island.
While Longwood HS isn't the greatest, the areas that go to that SD are very nice - they are more north.
The W & H sections are nice...at least they were when I lived around there.

coram north of 25 is fine - we live in coram in the muskat ridge section and have been here for years - never had any problems - dont know wbout the schools as i dont have kids and didnt live here when i was in school
