Quality Evil Eye Bracelets/Necklaces for infants?
I really want to give on to my daughter this Christmas, but I want something of very good quality. Does anyone know of where I can find such jewelry?

Do you mean a hamsa? If so, the source for everything jewish jewishsource.com has some nice ones. They also have murano glass eyes.

Wow!
I never knew there was a Jewish connection
I grew up with the words "evil eye" as part of a given in our heritage of Hispanic. Honestly we were never taught of a protection for it but only that the person who envies should touch the child or person to avoid giving the evil eye.
Jim had to get used to that when we got here in Texas. A LOT of people come over and touch my daughter and in Spanish say to "prevent evil eye" etc.

I am looking more for a chain with a crystal eye rather than a beaded bracelet. I just bought myself one on hautelook a couple of weeks ago and didn't even think about her!

I think every culture has it...with the jewish connection, we also tie a red string around DD's ankle and her crib...now it became "trendy" in a way bc of Madonna and the kabbalah following celebs

Yeah, us Italians wear the horn and the malucchia (spelling, sorry!) sign (a hand with the pointer and pinky fingers extended). Every culture has something.

Yup - Greeks totally rock the "evil eye" big time. Traditionally, one is given to babies when they are born and is pinned onto the back of their little onesies to ward off the "evil eye" from jealous onlookers.

Italian.....We hang a red ribbon in the house and for babies we pin the "malocchio" symbol on the baptism outfit. After the christening, I pinned it to the infant carrier.

Re: Quality Evil Eye Bracelets/Necklaces for infants?
I am half Turkish, but I learned about the "molocchio" from my friend who os Italian. I just love the significance. I am a very spiritual person and it can't hurt to have some protection! I also tied the red ribbon around her crib, something I learned from you girls on LIF. Again, protection--not a bad thing!
Anyway...anymore suggestions as to where I can find the jewelry?

Re: Quality Evil Eye Bracelets/Necklaces for infants?
I thought the evil eye was what I gave DH when he was watching Scooby Doo with the kids last night at 9pm. Waay past their bedtime.
If they sell evil eyes, I am totally getting him one for Christmas. Although maybe he'd be better off with a bracelet to ward off me.

Re: Quality Evil Eye Bracelets/Necklaces for infants?
honestly I think its awesome!
I didnt know the red ribbon thing but AJ had a red bow holding her laundry bag onto her crib in our old apt.
As soon as she came into San Antonio and spent a day with my aunt WITHOUT me around, my aunt preformed the cleansing ritutual on her because she got cranky and of course my aunt assumed 'evil eye'.
Im all for it!
I shun no faith. I had a lady at target stop me once to admire AJ and told me to wait while she dug through her purse. She pulled out a knit pocket with a cross (cross stitch on plastic) tucked in it. It had a little passage and I could have cared less. But I kept it with AJ for months and months. I think its in my old diaper bag.
I once got stopped buy a guy in Roosevelt Field selling cell phone accessories. He noticed my eye colors and gave me a ton of those little turkish blue eye thing stickers. Said to 'protect me' I had one on my cell phone and my laptop for a long time
Never can be too safe can we?
