Ques: Can dogs get a cold?
My BT just started this cough....nothing comes out, a hack, a cough and then done. Its so weird because he has NEVER had this before.
I just had him taken to vet for shots a wk ago..Im thinking a reaction.
Im not sure???
ETA: he also has a runny nose.

Yes, dogs can get colds. I would take him to the dr though to make sure it's not kennel cough. Our boys got kennel cough once after a grooming and it was not fun. Hope he feels better

Dogs can get colds, pink eye ring worm... pretty much what humans get dogs get too. He might need an antibiotic.

Did he get the bortadella vaccine? It very well could be kennel cough - that is what Scout sounded like. Call your vet and describe the symptoms if he hasn't been vaccinated. Also my vet told me that there are so many strains that it is possible to be vaccinated and yet still get it.
