Ques. for those that have taken DC to Gymboree
Tom. is DD's first class and I have some questions....
What should I expect? What do they actually do? Do I do everything with DD or just some things and the instructer does others?
Oh and one stupid question....what do I do with her belongings...stroller, diaper bag, etc.? Is there a place to put this stuff?

How old is DD? There is a reception area where you leave DD's stuff, and your shoes. The area where you go with DD is covered with matts on the floor, and has soft climbing structures.
What you do will depend on the age. Wear socks and if she is 6 months or under (Level 1) bring a blanket to lay her on. You do everything with her, the leaders just...well..leads.
Songs and finger play, parachute time, bubbles, etc. Again depends on the level. Lots of singing.

Gymboree is so much fun. You pretty much do everything with her. You'll start by sitting in a circle and singing songs and then they have play time where she can interact with other kids. Then they do parachute play and then some more singing and it's over. At least that's how it was when I went.
I went to Hicksville and they had an area where you could leave all your belongings.

Have a ball!!! It's great! Be prepared to be tired after. I say it's a workout for me.
The bubbles and parachute time are always a hit

It's fantastic! It is quite a workout for both you and dc. You will be doing everything with you dc but the instructor will lead you through activities that are themed around the lesson for that phase. They go through 2 or 3 different themes over the course of one session. We're at level 4 now and for example we focus for 2 weeks on on and off, up and down, loud and soft noise, push and pull, etc. So all of the activities will focus on reinforcing the one concept for that week. You'll have a blast. It may take your dc a while to loosen up and adjust to the group environment but they'll really blossom in those classes. I was very impressed.

Thankyou everyone. I am so excited to take DD today. It's the first class type thing she is doing so I hope she enjoys herself.
