question - for a family member
morning ladies, I am posting this for a family member of mine...would love your honest answers.
if there was a product on the market in a wipe form that you can carry in your purse, that would safely disinfect your silverware at a restaurant, would you use it? Would you use it on your children's forks? Would you give it to your husband to use as well?

Re: question - for a family member
I really don't think I'd use it to disinfect silverware. I guess I figure since it has gone through the restaurant's dishwasher it is clean. Their machines are alot hotter than ours at home (I've been told). I do use disinfecting wipes for the table though before I let DD eat put anything on it.

no, I wouldn't. Just seomething else that is thrown away. I hate that we are such a disopsable society. Plus I don't see the need for such a product.

same here. i would never use it. i don't need my silverware more disinfected than it already is after being washed. if it doesn't look clean, i get a new set. besides that, i don't worry about it.

Re: question - for a family member
I would probably buy it and stick it in my diaper bag. But I would probably forget I had it and never use it.

This made me
But no, I wouldn't like another poster said, the silverware has gone through an industrial dishwasher, no need for more waste

I am a magnet for gadgets and such, so I probably would buy it....but may forget I have it when its time to use them.
I bought the disinfectant wipe for the pacifiers about a month ago, put them in the diaper bag, and never used one!

No. And, I am a wipe-aholic I just wouldn't want to put chemicals or whatever on my child or my utensils b/f they go in my mouth.

Re: question - for a family member
I'd give anything to my DH- depending on my mood .
For myself and the kids- no. I don't want to put any type of chemical in there mouths or mine.
As far as silverware goes, if he/she is that concerned, then why not just buy some of the disposable type kind and just throw them out when finished?

I would worry more about the chemicals in a wipe like that than I would about dirty silverware.

Re: question - for a family member
They already sell alcohol wipes that are super cheap. Even with these readily available, easily carried, easily used wipes, I have never seen anyone use them.

Re: question - for a family member
If I had some kind of silverware fear(which I do not) then, I would think the best alternative would be to bring silverware for the kids with me to dinner.
