Question
Those of you who have done IUI with injectibles, what are the side effects from the injectibles? Are they similar to that of Clomid?
The reason I ask is because I am considering doing injectibles instead of clomid. I was so dizzy on even 50mg, and I am STILL having major mood swings over 2 weeks later. Like- right now I am so filled with anger I feel like screaming and crying and running home to my bed. I just don't know if I can do this for another month.

Re: Question
Injectables were a piece of cake compared to clomid. I HATED clomid - and the hot flashes! I had a headache w/ the injectables, off and on, but that was it- and that was VERY tolerable compared to the clomid side effects.

Re: Question
Thanks. This is just awful. I don't sleep well, I wake up sweating and thirsty a few times a night. And I feel the nastiness seeping through me and then I just want to scream and cry. I am so sensitive about everything and I hate it.
I have an appointment with Dr. K on Tuesday. I guess I will ask him about it then.

Re: Question
I totally agree with Shannon. I've had very little side effects from injectables...but on Clomid I had terrible hot flashes and mood swings.

Re: Question
I only did Clomid for 2 months because the side effects were unbearable for me. Injections had fewer noticeable side effects but I did end up with cysts and hyperstimulated one month. GL!

I actually kept a cool wet facecloth (or 2) in a bowl by my bed w/ a little bit of water in it to keep it cool. It helped when I woke up really hot and sweaty- and sometimes just putting it on my forehead and wiping down my arms w/ the other one allowed me to go back to sleep, where getting out of bed to go get everything and cool off usually kept me awake for a while, if not the rest of the night.

Re: Question
Loved loved loved injectables! Clomid made me crazy - injectables, I had absolutely NO side effects. The only thing that was harsh was the progesterone, but that's not an injectable.

Re: Question
Unlike PP, I really didn't have bad side effects of Clomid, actually, it made me a little mellow.
I have 2-3 more months of IUI with clomid andthen I move on to IVF. The only problem with the injectables, for me anyway with the IUI, is that i would have to go to the dr. almost every day for monitoring and if I over stimulated, they won't do an IUI.
