Question
I went in today for a blood and sono to start my provera and then proceed with clomid/ IUI. I get a call from my office saying my progesterone was positive and i ovulated- probably within the past few days- this is news to me as I test daily on an OPK and it was never positive. Of coarse I have been so stressed this week and working a crazy amount of hours that DH and I haven't since Saturday :( go figure. I find it very hard to believe i ovulated as I had no signs and all my OPKS were negative. They now want me to wait another 2 weeks before coming in for provera if needed. My question is at what point after ovulation is your progesterone "positive"? I'm confused by this.

Re: Question
it was probably elevated enough for them to think you ovulated. Maybe those test strips dont work for you? My neighbor who had 4 kids, never once got a positive on a home pregnancy test. Go figure. sometimes weird shit happens.

Question
Thanks! I'm just so frustrated. It's now another 2 weeks of waiting to start a cycl. I'm so tired of waiting. I'm burnt out before even starting a medicated cycle I don't know how everyone does it.

Re: Question
Your progesterone goes up immediately following ovulation. It stays up for the LP of the cycle and starts to go down a couple of days before AF arrives.

This.
When you do start a cycle, you should be monitored, not using OPKs.

Question
Thanks! I was waiting for AF to come to start a cycle I went in on CD 35 for what I thought was a song and provera script as i RARELY get AF. Turns out blood work shows i ovulated. No idea when as I used opks this cycle before starting the first medicated cycle and they were all negative. I go back now in 2 weeks again for blood work and soon if AF doesn't show for a provera script.
