question about benefits for a PT job...
Has anyone heard of a company having medical benefits that the cost is based on what you make?
I have never heard of that before. There's a PT job I'm interviewing for and I was told by the recruiter that you're eligible for benefits with only 20 hours. I'll get PTO and medical immediately, etc. I was just concerned with the cost of medical? I would only be working 24 hours a week. I'm not sure how much it would cost? She just said that the more you make the more you pay. Weird! I've only heard of set costs and set plans.
Has anyone heard of this before? Thanks!

I've heard of it before, but for a FT job. Salaried workers are put into tiers and the amount that the company contributes to health insurance is based off of the tiers.

Re: question about benefits for a PT job...
I have always been on a sliding scale for the amount to pay for my benefits. Its pretty common....

Thanks!
Do you think it will be a lot per month? I know it's hard to judge but I thought since I will only be working PT (24 hours per week) it can't be too much, right? (I'm also in NC)

I am on a sliding scale now- out of 3 companies I worked for- this is the first one that has been this way
I think it's fair
