Question about breastfeeding and building up a freezer stash.
I am currently EBF and want to build up a good freezer stash for when I go back to work in 8 weeks. I thought my supply was low bec. I would normally only get between 1.5 oz and 2 ozs when I pumped (even after changing flange size) so I was taking steps to increase my supply and started pumping around 3 to 3.5 oz. Now my DD chokes when I feed her so I think she is getting too much. I am also beginning to think that my supply was not actually low before bec. we just took DD for her 1 month well visit and she gained a good amount of weight. The Dr. was a little surprised I was still EBF based on her gain. Maybe I just don't respond well to the pump?
How do I build up a good stash without having an oversupply where DD is choking when she eats? I can stop drinking the mother's milk tea and stop eating oatmeal. Should I just pump more often.
I know there are tons of threads on this topic but I swear I have read tons of them and still feel lost. TIA.

Re: Question about breastfeeding and building up a freezer stash.
Some people just can't pump a lot. I know I have a good supply since DD is growing well, but I can only pump about 2oz, maybe 3. I just have to pump often to get enough for when I'm at work. I have noticed though that pumping at the same time everyday helped me get a little more. Good luck!

You are lucky - if you have a good supply you can pump right before she eats and then feed her! You will get more, and babies are much more efficient at getting the milk than a pump. Good luck!

Re: Question about breastfeeding and building up a freezer stash.
This is me. My ped keeps telling me I have an oversupply, due to DS's behavior while bfing and my constant plugged ducts, but I don't see it while pumping. I have gotten 6 oz, pumping, but that is not usual. She told me to go on BC to cut my supply, but I took myself off after some weak pumping sessions. Oh and my ped said not to worry about building the frozen supply. If you pump and feed her, your body will continue to produce more. While a stash is nice, I plan on pumping for missed feedings at work, and hope this works.
