Question about BRU registry

DH and I went to BBB last night and saw that they have PLENTY of stock on a few items that are "online items only" at BRU. Is it tacky to say on the online comments at BRU that some items are also available at BBB?

They could always call BRU and say the items were never removed from the registry and to please remove them but I have no way of letting anyone know this.

Is this tacky to do?

Re: Question about BRU registry

So you are only registered now at BRU? Did your shower invites go out yet? Why don't you just register for some more stuff at BBB also and send both cards with your invitation (if they weren't sent out already)

ETA: I was originally only going to register at one store but found that since people live all over the place sometimes it's better to give them an option of which store is closest to them!

Re: Question about BRU registry

Invites were sent out and yes, we only did one registry thinking it would be more convenient for everyone else....

Hmmmm - I don't know what to do then, I'm no help sorry! Could you tell your close friends/family that there are items you want that are at BBB and do a small registry there?

ETA: Also - some people don't even realize the registry cards that we put in the invitations and check online first to see if you are registered. If they see that you have a few items at BBB they may go straight there.

Re: Question about BRU registry

But is that tacky to do? I have no idea who is coming or who still has yet to buy? Is it tacky to write on the BRU site that items are also available at BBB?

OHHH Ok! Now I'm following you! I was wondering where you would be writing it since the invites already went out.

Could you even do that? I wouldn't imagine they would have the capability but I don't know.

If you could do it - I don't think it's tacky.

You gotta spell things out for me - I am seriously brainless these days! Chat Icon

I would try it - it can't hurt! Do you know when your shower is, or is it a surprise?

Re: Question about BRU registry

You are risking a lot of duplicates then.

Some people will shop only online and get the item and someone could have already gotten in from BBB and you wouldn't know.

I would just leave it as is. People will figure out how to get them to you.

Well, worst case scenerio, if you don't get the online items I'm sure you will get tons of gift cards and can purchase them then. There was only one item on BRU that I really wanted that was online only (my hamper) and I was so thrilled when I got it because I didn't really think I anyone would order online (don't ask me why bc I do it all the time for gifts)

Yes, but I would take the duplicates over not getting the item at all. I got tons of doubles and now I have lots and lots of credit! Chat Icon

Re: Question about BRU registry

I guess it makes sense to leave it alone. Just makes me Chat Icon that we didn't do one at each store to avoid anyone having to pay shipping

I agree, the credit is great, but I think it makes people feel bad when they bought the same thing as other people.

I hate to make people feel bad at the shower.

I agree that it may make people feel bad but duplicates always happen anyway, and at least she'll get what she needs.

Not tacky at all. You are giving people information that may be convenient for them. However, very few people will actually take the next step and make the effort to have the items they buy at BBB removed from your BRU registry. I also believe that if they call, BRU might either not agree to do it, or promise to do it, but never actually do it. You run the risk of duplicates and some headaches.

If you get gifts that are from BBB and you are not registered there, do you get the same return policy as people who are registered there? Is a there different policy for registry gifts and is it more liberal?

So, what I am trying to say is that you may cause yourself some headaches but I don't think it's a tacky thing to do.

I've actually had to call on other people's registries to have things removed because they were still on their registries AFTER I bought them at the store and they supposedly removed the items from the registry.
I just really don't want to make things more difficult for people - I was hoping to make things easier

I don't think it's tacky. We know someone who put on their BRU registry in the comments which bedding they wanted and that it was from Target.

Re: Question about BRU registry

I would just leave it, you will get so much credit, giftcards etc for BRU , and you can then just buy what you want
"online only" at BRU afterwards with the cards.

We only had one big double and some small stuff and we still ended up with like $300 or so in credit. Plus all the giftcards, and we didnt know WHAT to buy with it all.

Also some times the stuff that says online only at BRU goes available in the store the next day, then back to online only. ITs weird how it works, but I would put it on your registry regardless.

DH and I decided to leave it alone. I just felt bad that there are a few items that can't just be picked up in the store

Re: Question about BRU registry

I don't think it's tacky at all. We found the same thing when we registered at BRU. A lot of our choices were available at BBB online when BRU said in-store only.
