Question about checking carseat at airport
We are leaving on Friday for vacation and are traveling on Delta Express from La Guardia. I checked the delta website and it seems it's free to check carseats/strollers. Do you need to have some sort of travel bag for them?

I have no clue but wanted to say HAVE FUN! Going anywhere good?
ETS: I think you can just use clear garbage bags. That is what I have always seen them in.

Re: Question about checking carseat at airport
We've flown 3x w/ DD and gate checked our car seat and stroller every time and never used a bag. It's always been free too (jetblue).

we put the car seat in a bag and checked that with our luggage - then gate checked the stroller

Re: Question about checking carseat at airport
I bought a gate check bag for our infant seat for when we travel. You don't need one but, it helped us when we picked it up planeside and it helped us spot it easier.

Re: Question about checking carseat at airport
We have gate checked everything in the past. On our trip a few weeks ago, I bought an inexpensive bag from BBB to put the infant seat in. We used it on departure and then somehow lost it on vacation so we didn't have it for the way home and the seat was fine.

Re: Question about checking carseat at airport
Southwest put the carseat in a clear bag for us. It was free to check that and the stroller.

Re: Question about checking carseat at airport
We gate checked the carseat and stroller. We didn't have a bag or anything. The airline gave us tags to put on them.

Re: Question about checking carseat at airport
I have this bag for my convertible carseat and love it!! It made lugging it around while traveling with my DS alone so much easier and I def wanted mt car seat protected!

Re: Question about checking carseat at airport
I just flew two weeks ago, You are not required to have it covered, they will take it as is at the gate but I suggest buyibg a car seat cover. I saw it at BRU but decided not too. On the way there, there were no problems but on the way back the car seat was a little wet and we are now missing a bar that belongs in the umbrella part of the stroller.

Re: Question about checking carseat at airport
FYI- it's only free to check the carseats and strollers at the gate on Delta.
if you check them in with luggage they charge the luggage rate.
