question about going away without DC
my hubby wants to take a vacation without DS (who is now almost 6 months). The baby would stay with my mom. I can't imagine getting excited for this trip when i'm having anxiety over leaving the baby now.. ..what would u do?

Re: question about going away without DC
We went to Las Vegas when DD was 6 months old for my 30th birthday. I missed her sooooooo much, but it was also sooooo nice to be away. Plus, my mom loved having her for a few days, they did a lot of stuff together.
GO!!!!!!!

Re: question about going away without DC
Speaking from personal experience....GO!!!!
The same thing happened to me, DH wanted to go away and leave DS home, I wanted to bring him. He convinced me to leave him home. About 2 weeks before the trip (DS was 11 months) I had a lot of anxiety. I even looked into cancelling our trip. I am so glad we didn't. I won't tell you it wasn't hard, especially actually walking out the door (I was crying). But once we were off I was so much better. Sure I thought about Luke all the time and I missed him, but it was ok. We called home everyday and he was doing great. What surprised me was how easy/nice it was to just be a couple again. It was really good for us to have this time together as husband & wife and it was good for Luke too. We all survived and had a great time. I highly recommend it!!!

Re: question about going away without DC
We went last month without DS and it was great......our parents split the week.
It was terrifying to fly but once we got there we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves....
We missed him terribly but needed the time to relax and enjoy each other, which is something we desperately needed......
