question about grieving taxes
We are looking to grieve our taxes & they requested a copy of our appraisal & closing statement...
There is a 30k difference between what it appraised for & what we paid.. any idea which value they would end up using?
Appraisal was less if that matters.

They will go with the higher value. The price you paid for the house is it's actual market value.

What town are you in? I just grieved my taxes and wasn't asked for an appraisal. I'm in TOH.

I'm in the town of Huntington.
I'm hoping they do go by the appraisal since that's the lower number... hopefully that appraisal will be good for something!
