Question about HPT....
Okay, I took an HPT 2 1/2 weeks aog, and waited the 2 min and it was a BFN. Fine. I didn't throw it in the garbage b/c I didn't want anyone to see it (Crazy, I know). But today, I happen to find it, it was tucked into an old make-up bag, and it now had the dark negative line, with a VERY VERY faint (like pencil thin) line to make a +
Does this mean I am PG?!?!
I am afraid to re-test.
AF is due on Tues 8/29

Those lines still show up that long after being used??? I had no idea. As for accuracy - I also have no idea. Do you have another test lying around?

It's funny that you posted this. I took a HPT this morning, thought I saw a line(either it was very faint or it was my imagination!), I laid it in the garbage and when I went into the bathroom just now, the line was just a little darker. The box says that the results are not valid after ten minutes.
I would re-test- I feel like it could go either way- the line could be from evaporation(?) or,I feel like there must be something there that caused there to be a line.

I thought I saw somewhere that those are evaporation lines. Not sure though.

Unfortunately those lines are not accurate. You aren't supposed to read the test after 10 minutes.

this is how I found out I was PG. I took a test on a Thursday because I am neurotic and it was 2nd month off pills and it came up what I believed to be negative. I tossed it believing DH and I were still on track to TTC in the summertime and hit the gyno if need be (this was January '05)
the next morning I was brushing my teeth and happened to look down and see the discarded test with two lines, one faint but definitely there. 12 PG tests later and a confo at the dr office that Monday and it was real.
Definitely retest!
