Question about invite wording... (w pic to give you an idea)
For my son's first bday, we're having a pool party
Im most likely going to hire a lifeguard. Im paranoid about so many people around the pool, even though parents will be watching their own kids.
someone suggested to me that I SPECIFICALLY LET PEOPLE KNOW that a lifeguard on duty does NOT mean that a babysitter is on duty
Would you put this on the invite? I like invites to have VERY minimal wording (unless its a poem, fun verse) I hate to have babble on an invite or even extra words like city/state/zip people KNOW where I live.
so back to the point of the story, I will be putting on a separate little note, my address and directions, should I put a "nice" note about this lifeguard on duty ? and how would you word it ? or is this offensive and totally uncalled for?
HELP ! thanks !

Re: Question about invite wording...
I would let them know that there will be a lifegruard to make sure that the children are safe.. but make sure that you bring your suits to help celebrate as well.. this was you make sure that parents arrive in bathing suits na no just clothes.
You can also word the invite soemthing like this( i am not that great a this)
Bring your suits and have some fun (NAME) Is turning ONE. Food and Drink will be served And a lifeguard will make sure that all is heard. Play along for saftey's sake and we can all dry off and have some cake.
Good luck

Re: Question about invite wording...
I would write something like...
A lifeguard will be on duty to help you ensure your child's safety while in the pool.
(its still placing responsibility on parents...If you phrase it so that it could possibly be taken the other way, better make sure your life guard has insurance. (Probably should anyway.)

Re: Question about invite wording...
I don't think it's necessary to put anything about the life guard babysitting.
If you wanted, at the party put up a sign that says "While a lifeguard is on duty, any child in the pool must also have parental supervision. "
or something along those lines.

I agree with this idea...
Make it a big sign...

Re: Question about invite wording...
I don't remember seeing anything the last time I was at your house but did you ever put a gate around the pool?

Re: Question about invite wording...
thanks for the ideas guys, and cute poem
this is the gate, the pool is gated off. But its a huge area to be gated off, so Im still very nervous.

Oh ok...
I would put up signs on the big black fence and also inside the pool area, like along that big white fence. I don't care how silly this sounds but I would put signs all over the place wherever I can. That if Godforbid anything were to happen you have more than enough warning signs around.
