Question about Keurig

My DH wants one so I was thinking of getting him one for Father's Day. I don't drink coffee and don't know a thing about Keurigs. There are soooo many different one's. What's the difference? What's a good model?

Re: Question about Keurig

I don't know about the specific models, but each one varies by size and cup size features.

If it's just for him, get a small one. If you're going to use it in the house on a daily basis, get a larger one.

I know this info is not very specific, but HTH!

Question about Keurig

My mom hated her keurig that didn't have the water reservoir. She upgraded to the one I have. I love that it hold a decent amount of water so your not always refilling. Mine is an older model though b70 platinum. I'd def recommend it. It's been going strong for 5 yrs.

Question about Keurig

There's a regular Keurig and the Keurig Vue. The Vue has many more options in the machine itself in terms of drink temperature, size, stuff like that. However, they only take a certain type of K-Cup meant for that machine.

The regular Keurig machines are almost the same except the more expensive they are, the more features they have but they all take the regular K-Cup that is more widely available.

The Platinum one is programmable, the Elite one is not, the Mini doesn't have a water reservoir. I have the Elite which is nice b/c once the water is heated up (takes like 2 minutes if even), we can make a lot of cups of different types of coffee or teas when we have guests and it doesn't take any longer than brewing a whole pot of coffee. The Platinum would be able to do the same thing. We just don't have a need for it to be programmable.

Re: Question about Keurig

Thank you all!!

He wants to make one travel mug every weekday morning and then multiple cups ont he weekend. Oh and he wants to be able to set it at night so its made in the morning, but if it only takes a minute is that even necessary?

Sounds like I need to look at Platinums??

It really only takes 30 seconds to brew so no need to set it.
I'd get the one that is like in the $99- $129 range.

We have the Vue and LOVE it! It is a pain that the vue cups aren't sold in stores, but we order form keurig.com They have fast shipping, great prices and a rewards program. They also have autoshipments so you can just tell it when to send another batch of coffee. I like the variety and the size options. They go from 8oz to 18oz.

Re: Question about Keurig

the Keurig Vue is the new model out thats fancy schmancy..has cappucino options and frothy milk cups.
the cups are more expensive than regular K cups.

i'd suggest getting one of the regular models. I have the B70 Platinum. has 3 cup settings, lcd screen. I've had it now for a few years and works great. it takes 2 min to get ready to brew when you turn it on. there is no need for auto programming, but I think one of the models has a setting for that anyway.

the mini version is good if its just for him, but doesn't have a water reservoir, so you need to fill it before every cup you brew.

QVC i think is running a deal on them.

Question about Keurig

Costco has one (the Elite maybe?) and when we were shopping it worked out to the best price. You get the machine, the extra k-cup (for using loose coffee) and about 60 K-cups of various flavors.

Re: Question about Keurig

Keurigs are also good for tea and hot water. I like lemonade ice tea k-cups as well..

We have curisant and love it from Costco. We opted for that vs. keurigs about the failure rate and what not.
