Question about long hair and summer...........

If you planned to wear your hair up at least part of the time in the summer, and did not want bangs, would you want the hairdresser to cut a few short pieces in the front?

My thinking is that those short pieces will fall around my face and the updos will not look so stark. I have a high forehead but I get a weird cowlick when I have real bangs. I'm going with long layers and a sort of messy scrunched up look when my hair is down. Right now the shortest layer would stay in an updo. If I cut short pieces, I may get the cowlick a little bit but I think it may just look like curl.

Need an answer by Fri. afternoon--haircut time!

i would say cut a few pieces. i never wear my hair all back, i just dont like the way it looks on me. you alway have the option of using a bobby pin to hold the pieces back.

i think a few pieces hanging make a regular ponytail look a little more fashionable.

I decided to go with the short pieces around my face, but not a full bang. It grows out so fast that I can have a different look within a few weeks anyway. So far I plan to keep getting it trimmed this way anyhow.
