Question About Lupron Versus The Generic
Hi All,
I am about to start my meds for IVF and was just called by Krupners Pharmacy in Brooklyn who I am using about whether I think ( I haven't a clue) if the nurse who called in the prescription for LUPRON accidentially forgot to say that the GENERIC form was fine because it's a difference of over $300. I was like ummm..please call the nurse over there, which she will do tomorrow. I was curious to know now because that my personality..do you think for IVF they only suggest Brand Name--LUPRON or maybe the generic is just fine? They said (with my insurance) for all my meds TOTAL, it would be either $272 or $588 depending on the LUPRON VERSUS GENERIC.
Let me know if you guys can ease my sleep tonight of wondering.

I was given generic for some IVF meds, NOT Lupron though. They gave me the generic for Estrace tablets which was a difference of $180, so I dont think there is a big difference in terms of the meds.

The only thing I was able to switch to generic was the Estrace...other than that the office refused to do Generics.
Even with the Estradiol, I had to make a point of requesting it for every cycle.
