Question about nail tips/wraps
Has anyone ever gotten water underneath them?
I'm not sure whats goin on, but last week I banged my nail against the door (clumsy I am...). When I went to get my nails done-the woman took off my wrap and put some medicine on it.
Now, I'm not sure if its because I hit my nail or because water got underneath, but its definitely greenish/brownish in the middle of my nail...
It doesnt hurt, and thers no swelling. Could this be fungus???
What kind of med should I buy for this?
TIA!

Re: Question about nail tips/wraps
Either a fungus or blood from when you banged it- that collected under the nail. Does it hurt?

Re: Question about nail tips/wraps
First off don't panic. I used to do nails and people used to freak if the got a little green under the wrap/acrylic. It would be more of a concern if the green is between your actual nail and the skin!. Once you take the wrap off and file it off, you are fine. It is a surface mold and files right off.Yes you will still see the discoloration, but it is fine. It will grow out and be gone. HTH!!

I would then go to a DR. to get something for it.

Re: Question about nail tips/wraps
Don't laugh, but what kind of doctor?
Will I just need like a nail polish sort of treatment? Or will they have to take the nail off?

No one should laugh for that question - shoot, I'm not sure! I would assume a dermatologist or your primary care. GOod luck!

I would go to your primary and see what they say. I don't think that they will have to cut the nail back, but it might help it grow in faster.
