question about Ovidrel
I am on CD 8 today. This is my first round of clomid. I have one pill left to take tomorrow. I am scheduled to go for my sonogram on Saturday to check in on my eggs. This would be CD12. When do they recommend using the trigger shot? Would they make me wait more days?
Any info on what happens at that first visit after clomid is appreciated! tia

Re: question about Ovidrel
How long is your cycle normally? You will trigger when your estrogen reaches a certain level or your follicles reach a certain size (usually 18mm or above). You will getting blood taken and a sono done. They will look at your estrogen levels along with your FSH, LH and progesterone and your follicle size to determine when to trigger you. If you usually have a longer cycle, you may wait a couple of more days after day 12.

Re: question about Ovidrel
They will tell you when you go in if you should do it that day, or to come back for more bloodwork/sono to check again.

Re: question about Ovidrel
Great! Thanks for the help! Do they ever make you take more than five days of clomid?

They can.. it depends on your situation. The last IUI cycle I did before moving to IVF, I wasn't responding to the Clomid, so before canceling the cycle altogether, they had me do another 5 days of Clomid which I did respond to.

Re: question about Ovidrel
if you are responding normally to the Clomid, you will most likely not take more than 5 pills. They will monitor with sono's and blood work to determine the best day to trigger.

Re: question about Ovidrel
Great questions. I am going in on Friday for my folicle check , which will be CD13. I have a 25-26 day cycle. I hope they will give me the trigger shot on Friday

Re: question about Ovidrel
I was on Clomid for 3 cycles and for the two of the cycles, I was ready to trigger on CD 12. On one of the cycles, I was not ready so they had me come back on CD 14 to check again. I was ready and triggered that day.
