Question about ovulation/periods
Once you O, does AF ALWAYS come 2 weeks later? Can it be longer?
Sorry if this sounds dumb lol

Re: Question about ovulation/periods
hey dana -
it can be longer or shorter. that time is considered your Luteal Phase and it can vary per person.
mine was always short - but i know many women who have long ones...
eta: by short - mine was never longer than 9 days and longer would be anything longer than 14 days!

Re: Question about ovulation/periods
ITA with the above ladies.. so try and figure it out. This number will NEVER change. That's why when people say they are "late" it's just that they o'ed later than usual. it's a better way to figure out whe AF is due each month!!

unfortunately hon - that's not true.
Mine varied from 8-9 days and ONE time - hit 10. That number can change....it's one of the VERY fun mind games that our bodies play on us..

Re: Question about ovulation/periods
do you always know the ACTUAL day you Ovulate?? cause if you do.. then you can count the days from O to AF.. that will tell you your LP..

Re: Question about ovulation/periods
my cycles are never ever the same. I was averaging 40-43 days. NOw i'm up to CD49 (7DPO) so i wasnt sure if AF should be coming next week or if I still have time.
For me its just a guessing game. I'm going to back on March to the doctor to get started on treatments if nothing happens from now until then. (I have PCOS)

Re: Question about ovulation/periods
heres what I fount on LP:
A normal luteal phase stays constant each cycle. If it was ever to vary, it would only vary by 1 or 2 days.

right - but a true fact is that many girls LP DOES vary... As i said - mine was 8 or 9 days - and one time hit 10.
When we got pregnant - i tested when i was late - because getting to day 12 for me was NOT NORMAL....
It will also vary on how strict you are counting ovulation. Do you consider ovulation day the day AFTER a positive OPK, two days later, etc? That affects your number as well. For me - it was based on temping and opk's...and it varied month to month.
