Question about Parking at Shea for Billy Joel Concerts
Does anybody know what the parking situation is for the Billy Joel concerts. I assume there will be no VIP parking and it's a first come first serve situation. DW went to the Mets Yanks game with her sister a few weeks back and they bused them in from a far distance. The statium should be a sell out and then the additional seats on the field will throw them over typical capacity. What is everyone else going to do? We know someone that lives not that far in flushing and have been debating parking at their house and taking the train right in. Any thoughts on that?

I think public transportation is the way to go. You can park & ride along the Port Washington line or if you can easily go through Woodside - you can switch back to Shea there or take the 7 train.

Re: Question about Parking at Shea for Billy Joel Concerts
We drove to Shea a couple of weeks back and had to park FAR away and were bused and still had to walk a great distance.... So we decided to train it. The LIRR has a special schedule just for the Billy Joel show.

I didn't even think that they would be running extra trains but you make a very good point. Now I just need to convince the other 9 people that it's a good idea.

I stumbled upon it when we were going to take the train to shea a couple of weeks back. We had to drive in because we were not going to make the train and didn't want to have to wait, but after all the walking we will make sure we are running on time on Wednesday. Here is the link: Billy Joel LIRR
