Question about progesterone levels
Hello,
My sister in law (she's a teacher, so she's not by a computer) just did IVF and got a BFP. She's been taking progesteron injections. She's about 5 weeks now and her beta numbers have been doubling. She went for a test today and the beta came back at 4,000 (from 1,800), but her progesterone fell to 26 (it was 35-39 last week). She had a little bit of spotting over the weekend, but that has gone away, but she's a little scared about the lower progesterone. The nurse said not to worry, but of course she's worrying anyway. She had an early miscarriage on her first IVF attempt.
Does anyone know if it is normal for the progesterone to fall that much over the course of a week, or should she be worried?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Question about progesterone levels
Not to scare you but falling progesterone could signal implantation issues or something of that nature. I have read a blog where a woman who had m/c had her progesterone tested every few days until week 14 and whenever it was low her Dr bumped up her progesterone. Is that an option? On the other hand 26 is still in the normal acceptable range in pregnancy. Some Dr's feel over 15 most feel over 20 is acceptable. She should stay on top of her levels. Also she may want to ask her Dr about a different type of progesterone. I have heard the suppositories are MOST effective followed by PIO. Good luck..

Re: Question about progesterone levels
Thanks for the reply.
She is going to go for another blood test. Hopefully, all will be fine.
