Question about RE's
Hi ladies, just have a quick question. I was going to call tomorrow to make an appointment with an RE to get a move on everything. We already had all our testing and just want to move onto IUI. A friend of mine told me about Dr. Stelling with RSoNY in Stony Brook. I was going to call his office but recently I've seen a few posts on here with conflicting reviews on RSoNY. I just want to make sure that I am starting off this whole process on the right foot and I want the best doctor that I can find. I'd appreciate any info from you ladies. Thank you.

Re: Question about RE's
Everyone has their own opinion and experiences. Of course, whatever RE gets you pregnant is going to be the best.
My experience at Stony Brook...I see Dr Lydic @ RSoNY and I love him and I love the staff there. I have not gotten my bfp yet, and it has been over a year with them, but I still go there. I trust the drs, everyone in stony brook is beyond caring, it is NOT a factory feel, I am never there for a long time...I can't say enough about them. Dr Stelling is great too, I have seen him too. Do I think they are the most aggressive REs out there...Definitely not! Do I think they think outside the box...No. Do I trust them...Yes. I DO feel like I do a lot of research and make my own suggestions, and I may seek a second opinion in 2014 but I am not sure yet. MANY women on this forum have had success with RSoNY, and some have not.
The most important thing is to go to a RE you trust and an office you are comfortable with.
Good Luck!!!!!!

Question about RE's
Not too sure. I know he used to be with RSoNY and his patients lived him. Now he has his own office in Stony Brook affiliated with NSUH I believe. I also think I heard somewhere that Dawn a nurse practitioner from RSoNY is with him in that office, and she is fantastic also. That is actually the doctor I was thinking about having a second opinion with in 2014.

Re: Question about RE's
I started at RSofNY with Dr. Halfen but since he is not there everyday of the week, I see Dr. Stelling just as often. I have done 2 IUIs and moved to IVF due to insurance reasons (I have unexplained infertility). Dr. Stelling is very intelligent and will answer all your questions fully. I think RSofNY is good but I also feel like you need to do your own research as well. I usually go in with some questions/ suggestions and we discuss the next steps together. Everyone is so nice in the office (I go to W. Islip most of the time but also go to Stony Brook) and are personable.
