Question about returns to Kohl's

I used $10 in Kohl's cash for two things. If I want to go back and exchange them for different items, but not make an actual return, will I lose that Kohl's cash?

I tried calling customer service but the line is busy and the website only addresses returns, not exchanges.

You wont loose it. You will get a store credit for whatever it worked out to be.

Not back on your cc if you used it.
Unless part is due back on your card.

Ex: I returned a pair of sneaks but bought a shirt at the same time.

My return was partial amt of sneaks, which worked out to be part Kohls cash as merchandise credit, and then a cc return of the amt that I actually charged.
I dont know. it just worked out and I didnt feel like I lost out.
