Question about seeing a GI Specialist? Need Reccomendations..
I have DS on Zantac right now for Reflux, but I don't think it is working. He is still just so uncomfortable most of the day and especially in the middle of the night. I was wondering if I should go see a GI specialist? Do I need to aske the Pediatrician first, or do I just make an appointment with a GI? I'm going to give the Zantac a little while more to see if it works.

Our ped recommended seeing a GI specialist....we went to one at Stonybrook hospital...she was very good

the practice at schneider is good too. my ins. didn't need me to go to the ped. first but I had been.

The meds do take time, but Zantac and Pepcid didn't work for us either. We saw a GI specialist (I'm not in LI) and prescribed Prevacid. It wired DS for a few day (he couldn't sleep) but once he got used to it it really helped

Our ped. reccommended one for us. We saw Dr. Gold through Good Sam. Pediatric Specialty Center- loved him!

I told my ped I was making an appointment and she was fine with it. I just went ahead and called Yale's Children's hospital and made an appointment.
Unfortunately I can't give a reccomendatoin because we are in CT
