Question about stainless steel appliances...
We decided to make the switch... from white to ss....
Anyway, we aer getting a new wall oven, fridge and diswasher.... (the jenn-air girll will have to wait
the guy at pc richards told us that it is better to get all the same brand appliances bc of the variations of color of ss appliances....
now normally i wouldnt care, but our kitchen isn't that big... is it a galley i guess...
the oven is rigth next to the dishwasher and the fridge is right across from the oven. we will be getting a jen air ss grill in a few months, but that is a little further away...
is this true? should i worry about this or not. if so, becuase of the limited amount of gas wall ovens available, in ss, we will be getting fridgidare bc we are buying from pc richards... (we have a big hook so we have to buy from there....)
thanks!

Re: Question about stainless steel appliances...
My fridge is LG
My stove is GE
And my dishwasher is Maytag
No problem...looks the same.
I suspect we have the same kichen, although we ripped out our wall oven and put a stove where the range top was, and the fridge where the wall oven was...

Re: Question about stainless steel appliances...
I would not worry about matching appliances. buy the size that you need. IMO, check out some other stores.... they could have the same brands in different sizes.

Re: Question about stainless steel appliances...
Not sure - my parents have KitchenAid so it all looks the same.
I would highly doubt that getting different brands would make THAT much difference!

Re: Question about stainless steel appliances...
We have all maytag except for the microwave. The microwave is GE. They look exactly the same.
Get what you like and shop around too.
Those stores that sell wholesale and have big warehouses have good prices too. Sorry I don't have a recommendation though.
I would also try Sears. The Kenmore appliances are excellent.

Re: Question about stainless steel appliances...
I have all Stainless Steel appliances and all different brands...
I have a Thermador Convection Oven, Thermador Gas Stove, GE Profile Fridge, and Jenn Air Dishwasher! All of them are stainless steel and look the exact SAME!
And, I even have 2 different brands right next to each other (the fridge and oven)!
The only thing I noticed when I was shopping was LG makes a different stainless option for the color. I think they called it Platinum or Titanium or something like that. Just watch out for that... Other than that one brand, I think you will be FINE!
Here are some pics of my oven & Fridge. Good luck - appliance shopping is so fun!

Re: Question about stainless steel appliances...
We have a Fridgeadair stove, Kitchen Aide fridge and dishwasher. I wouldnt get the same line because the way it looks. It might be a little more in the long run because I am sure PC Richards will probably give you a great deal if you get a "package" but I think some companies are known for making a certain appliance bettter than others.

Re: Question about stainless steel appliances...
What I would be concerned about are the finishes that are made to look like SS. I don't have anything next to each other, but I think I might try to match anything next to each other.
Just an FYI: Jenn air ranges have gotten very bad reviews. I think we looked at the one you are talking about :
link to epinions
I can't find the other reviews that I saw, but almost everything I read was negative, although I loved the look and idea of it! We ended up with a Kitchenaid instead and I'm very happy

We have 3 different brands all SS. You can not tell the difference at all.
Oh BTW be prepared to hate keeping it clean. SS looks great but its a pain in the arse to keep clean

I couldn't agree more! I love the way it looks, but there are many nights that I don't want to cook b/c of the thought of cleaning all of my appliances afterwards!

Re: Question about stainless steel appliances...
I have a kenmore SS stove (came with the house) and recently bought a LF ss dishwasher and they are different shades of stainless. Also they are made of different materials. Lg does make titiniam but I got stainless and my dishwasher is such a pain to clean it only gets clean clean when company is comming but my stove is amazing and dosnt get fingerprints and u just take a damp towel and wipe it. That dishwasher I curse every single day I oil it and buff it and you name it and it is still streaked.
I actually want the LG fridge but I think I am going to go with the TItinium much easier to clean.
