Question about sweet 16 gift.
DH and I are going to a sweet 16 at jericho terrace. The mom of the girl and I used to work together and now we get together about 2 times a year. Well, she came to my wedding with her DH and 2 daughters. They gave me a check that bounced and never addressed it and I had to pay the $30 fee.
MIL says I should give her daughter a smaller gift than I would normally give. So far I bought her a pair of Nadri hoop earrings from Nordstrom which cost about $50, MIL says that is enough but I dont know. What does everyone think? Thanks.

If they're nice earrings, I'd say that's enough for a sweet 16 gift, but it all comes down to what you feel comfortable giving.
