You certainly can, but I never found it necessary. I usually start after AF (give myself a little break) and FF is able to give me a pretty accurate idea of when I O based on the pattern that is made from about CD4 or 5.

You can, but I usually get high irratic temps during AF. I was worried that this would throw off my chart and had asked a question about this to the experts on the VIP fertility friend chatboard. Their response was that the temps during AF aren't necessary to chart, so with that advice give myself a few days off from testing and start around cd5.
