Question about the flu shot

So my doctor does not have the flu shot in yet. DD is not scheduled for another well visit until 12/26. DO you think I should bring her before then for a flu shot or just wait until her 9 month visit? TIA Chat Icon

Re: Question about the flu shot

I would do it now, my doc said first come first serve basis - they are limited to the amount they are given for supply.

Re: Question about the flu shot

Get it done before your child gets a cold from cold weather, they wont give it if child has any sickness.

my kids still have a cough from a cold. my doc said as long as its just a cough and no other sickness, he will give them the shot. so i think it ok that she got the shot.

I would call and make an appt for her to get it earlier, this is the time to get it done, so I wouldn't wait to long!

Re: Question about the flu shot

It can take 4-6 weeks for the body to build the immunity after getting the shot. Also, the first time they get it, it is a 2 part vaccination. That really puts you right in the middle of flu season. You should get it as soon as the ped's office gets it in.
