Question about the weight of your twins during pregnancy.
So up until my appt on Monday, the twins were measuring exactly the same. I'm 21 1/2 weeks now. Now is measuring 2 oz. behind . Dr. Kofinas said it is VERY common. And the boy is almost always bigger, even at birth. He said we will keep an eye on it though becuase if she gets too much more than that behind him, then we'll have to start Lovenox twice a day. At first we were nervous about it, but Dr. Kofinas eased our minds and we feel alot more comfortable about it. I was just wondering if this happened to anyone else, where your twins measured exactly the same up until your level 2? TIA.

Re: Question about the weight of your twins during pregnancy.
My twins were always measuring the same until around 27 weeks. Thats when started lagging behind. We were expecting him to be smaller since he had a single umbilical artery which could lead to decreased growth towards the end of prenancy. They were born at 36w6d. was 6 lbs 2 oz, was 5 lbs 5 oz.

Re: Question about the weight of your twins during pregnancy.
My twins never measured the same, Baby B was always a little behind. They were born 5-9 (A) and 4-15 (B). Two ounces is negligible and there is always a margin of error - remember they are just estimates and can change depending on who is doing the sono, if the baby moves, etc. I wouldn't worry
ETA by 4 months old Baby B outweighed his brother by a full pound. Now it is more like half a pound and a half inch bigger.

Re: Question about the weight of your twins during pregnancy.
My were pretty even throughout my entire pregnancy. On the day my water broke I had a sonon that morning and the doctor said Baby A was 6 lbs 6oz, baby B was 6lbs 4oz, the next day I delivered Baby A 6 lbs 8 oz 20 inches, Baby B 5 lbs 1oz 18 inches.

Re: Question about the weight of your twins during pregnancy.
One twin was always ahead. Baby A (DD) always measured ahead of Baby B (DS). At birth A was 6lb5oz and B was 5lb6oz...now at 6 months DS (baby B) is around 20lbs and DD (baby A) is around 17 lbs so he totally by passed her by!!
Trust Dr. Kofinas, he knows whats he doing!!

Same thing with me. DS ended up 6 ounces bigger. Gia was 6-2 and Nicolas was 6-8. At a year, Gia is a little over 20 pounds and Nicolas is a little over 26!!!!!

Thanks ladies! I feel much better about it now. Dr. Kofinas also told me to expect DS to be bigger than DD at birth.

Re: Question about the weight of your twins during pregnancy.
Same here. The girls were like an oz or 2 apart untill about 20-22 weeks and then a bigger difference started. The Dr.'s at the specialists office told me it was completly normal and ok. I was still nervous...bu now I think its just how my twins are , as one is MUCH bigger then the other at 1 yr.

Re: Question about the weight of your twins during pregnancy.
My DD was always much smaller than my DS. Towards the end of my pregnancy, she went below the 10th percentile (I was having frequent growth sonos at a high risk doc). So, they decided to just keep an eye on her with weekly sonos at the maternal fetal specialist. She ended up being 4lbs 12oz when she was born, and DS was 6lbs 4oz! It turned out that her placenta was kind of mangled. But, she was super healthy and has gained a ton of weight now. So, I wouldn't stress about it...especially since you are being watched so closely.
