Question about Tutor Time Prices
Hey All, so not TTC's yet, but DH and I were talking about Child Care Prices today.
How much is Tudor Time for 3 days per week and 5 days per week?
Are there any other places in Holbrook close to the LIRR Ronkonkoma station and if so, what is the ballpark? Thanks

Re: Question about Tutor Time Prices
I can give you a breakdown for Holbrook Tutor time was 315 a week ft. they wouldnt do pt infants. There rep sucked after someone on here posted some violations. Kindercare was 280 Bohemia Location for ft childtime was 305ish ft Most places wouldnt do pt for infants when we were looking. We ended up doing private bc it was affordable.

Re: Question about Tutor Time Prices
My DD is in Tutor Time in Holbrook & they do have a p/t program. I know it is 140.00 for 2 days.
As for violations, I don't know what that is about - this place is run extremely well. I can vouch for the Assistant Director - she's my sister, and there have been no violations or other problems & she has been there for over 11 years. Holbrook is a "corporate" Tutor Time, owned by the company directly - not a franchise like others can be.
Even if my sister wasn't there, I would highly recommend this place after spending time there & seeing how they take care of the children.

HMM, that's a lot cheaper than I thought (especially since we would most likely only need it 2/3 days per week because my mom said she'd do 1 day and my MIL said she'd do 2 days.
Now, is it the location in Holbrook Commons or the one right by the LIRR station? I actually think the one in Holbrook Commons looks much cleaner (I once went inside).
What are their hours, ie how early can you drop your child off?

Re: Question about Tutor Time Prices
There is a Tutor Time directly across from the LIRR in Ronkonkoma. My daughter works there and it is a pretty decent place. I would avoid the one in Holbrook. I was curious one day and looked up their record and they have had three major violations in the past year. When I showed it to my daughter, she was stunned that it was still open. This place, from the time they opened, has never had a good reputation. I've known people who have worked there and they have said to avoid it if you can.
No place is going to be perfect and there are going to be things you like and dislike about all of them. Just do your homework and check them out thoroughly.

They do in fact have violations. Albeit, they were corrected, but still.

hmm, ok, I hate to sound mean, but really only #2 is what may bother me. #1 & #3 dont' really make me not want to send my child there.
Plus these are all from 2006. Wonder if there are any sooner. HMM, interesting though. I've heard good things from my neighbors too about the center.

There is a whole list of violations, I only copied the ones from the past year. Honestly, since your sister is the asst. director and your child goes there, of course you are going to feel comfortable with it. Myself, I do not. I would never send my child to a center that employed staff that uses humilitation or demeans a child to get them to toilet train, that's a HUGE problem in my book. I understand that worker may not work there anymore, but I think there is a huge problem with management if someone like that was even hired to begin with. JMO though.
As far as number 3, since daycares, schools, etc. are MANDATED reporters and they suspected a child was being abused and it wasn't reported,well... I don't think I need to even comment further.
ETS: I had you confused with the other poster, I see that your sister isn't employed there.

Summer...I am behind you 100%! Knowing violations such as demeaning or humiliating a child are just an absolute NO, NO in my book! Especially to think if it were my child! I thank God you originally wrote that out for me bc it is EXACTLY what kept me from putting dd there.
