Question about winter cruises that depart from a cold weather port but go to warm weather ports.
Looking at a cruise (Carnival) in February that starts in Baltimore but goes down to Florida and the Bahamas. There are two days at sea before you get to FL.
My question is... what the he!l do you do on a cruise at sea for two days when it's cold out? I assume it won't be pool weather for the first day and a half at least... do they plan extra indoor activities? Do you just drink through the two days?

There are usually more activities (not great ones to me), indoor pool, movies, and definitely lots more drinking.

We did NY to Bahamas in May. It was cool for about 2 days there and back.

We just came back from a RC cruise Baltimore to Caribbean yesterday.
I wouldn't do it from Baltimore in the winter, it wouldn't be worth it. Just last week, the first day and a half and the last day and a half was hard with cold and wind and basically for the most part you are stuck inside. I can't imagine doing it in february, it would be half a vacation wasted to me. IMO you should just fly and take it from the south or wait until spring/summer.
BTW, they also closed the Cheasapeake Bay and Port of Baltimore on Friday because of the storm so we circled in the ocean for an extra 12 hours. Then it takes 9 hours from once they enter the bay to get to the port. They need to go really REALLY slowly due to the wake.

Hmm good to know. We live in Baltimore, so my husband is in love with the idea of hopping in a cab, getting to the port and being on vacation already. You've confirmed my fears that it will be a snoozefest for the first 2 days. Thanks!
