Re: Question bout BFing...
Some but not all children are sensitive to what their mom eats. In the beginning other than the obvious (no alcohol, limit caffeine) it may take trial and error to find your own child's limits.

Re: Question bout BFing...
What you eat can affect your baby.
Also whatever affects you (gassy food, acidic food, caffeine, etc..) can affect the baby.
Ped told me to stop eating bananas (I ate one everyday) and DS is very gassy. Bananas are binding.

tia! Yes, if I eat too much garlic, or garlic that is not cooked well enough DS gets pretty ill from it. He has really bad poop & he spits up a lot for the day of & after.

Yes. For example my friend's son could not drink milk while she breastfed, it made her son spit up. Some food you eat can make your child gassy also, as others above said.

Re: Question bout BFing...
It depends on the baby. DS has not had a problem with anything I eat.

another question to go with this question...
how long do you think after you eat will it affect your DC if it does at all? (gassiness, spitting, etc)

Same here. I have noticed that what I eat really has no affect on him.
I am also including a couple of useful links.

I had the same problem until DS was 4 months old. He'd scream bloody murder! It was so bad I had something with powdered milk and only figured it out after the fact b/c he was hysterical...
