Question for 2009 Mommies

I just went to BBB and BRU to set up a registry. I plan on actually registering after my level II in two weeks. Both associates at each store told me NOT to register for stroller, car seat, etc., because most lines will be discontinued at the end of the year, and new patterns will come out in January of 2009. Did you register for these items? And were you told about this? I really like the Milan Graco pattern and am worried it's going to be discontinued come the new year. Any advice?

Honestly, if it's an option, see if your parents/inlaws would be willing to buy you some of the "bigger" items now.

My IL's did this with my travel system so I didn't need to even worry about putting it on the registry!

I put all items on my registry and even if they did get discontinued someone my purchase it before hand what is the worse case you register for another and return one.. Thats what I did

I am due in Feb but I put those items on registry because my shower is in December... Parents bought furniture, in laws bought glider and cousin bought stroller...so the "big" items are basically done-which is really nice

Depending on when you are due/when shower is...I would register for it

I just added everything I wanted... I did buy my girl bedding because I know it was a seasonal item and I didn't want to chance it not being available if I do in fact have a girl. I was able to get it on sale and with a coupon, so I ended up paying like over 65% off-- so it's not too bad if I go late and am unable to return it (I have til 1/31 and am due 1/29).

I registered for everything- including the Milan car seat, stroller and playpen (all which have been bought off the registry).

When will your shower be? I'd still register for them if thats what you really want!

I am going to leave the stuff on my registry bc my shower is probably in January, so alot of people may be shopping in December. I will just keep watching it and if it gets discontinued before it gets purchased, then I will change it. Picking this stuff out was a big decision. I can't go through that again!
