Question for Alimentum Moms
Has anyone noticed their DC starting with excessive saliva when they switched? DS is now on his third formula (he's only 6.5 weeks old ) and since the 2nd or 3rd bottle of the Alimentum, I've noticed some really extreme / excessive saliva. I was just wondering if this was a normal reaction to the formula.
**I should add that he gets 4oz of Alimentum + 1 tsp of rice cereal every three hours.
Any experience you can share would be great.

Re: Question for Alimentum Moms
I give my dd Alimentum and never had a problem like that.
Are you sure it's not the rice?
Did your ped. tell you to give him rice that young?
I didn't start rice til my dd was 5 months old.

If DC has reflux it is recommended to put rice in the bottle.

Yes, the ped has recommended the rice in the bottle and the Alimentum - all three switches + the Zantac is under dr's orders (we're there 1/week). I'm almost positive it's not the rice, that it is the forumula.
Anyone else?

Thank you. That's what I'm thinking - I'll mention it to the ped when I speak to him.

Re: Question for Alimentum Moms
Funny thing I actually have noticed DS has been drooling more, not alot but more.
I figured it was because of the zantac he is on, is your DC on any meds?
I have a dr appt on wed & going to bring up.

Ah, well at least Colin's not alone He is on Zantac but he's been on the zantac for a while and the weird drooling seems to have started with the Alimentum, which was only a few days ago. Or maybe it was just enhanced by it and actually caused by the Zantac?
Let me know, if you remember, what your ped says. TY
