question for cat people....
do you think it's too cold to leave a cat outisde for extended periods of time lately?
the people who live across the street from me have a cat - and it's outside everytime i look...the cat has a collar and sits in their flowerbox looking inside the window, like it wants to go inside, but they seem to ignore it.

I think it's pretty cold out. Maybe they let the cat out to use the bathroom? They shouldn't leave the cat outside for a long period of time though

Re: question for cat people....
YES! I only take my cat outside for 30 seconds to get fresh air in this weather. She usually loves the freedom of being outdoors but she begs to go back inside as soon as possible.

I don't know...I wonder that too, my neighbors have 2 dogs and they leave them out all day, even yesterday when it was snowing

Re: question for cat people....
I don't even let my cat out at all! But, I would definitely say they shouldn't leave their cat out for extended periods of time. I know I don't want to be out there for a long time, I don't know how a tiny little cat with a temperature higher than ours would want that! Cats LOVE heat.

My cats are indoor only...I think it's awful to leave them outside for that long.

Re: question for cat people....
I feel so bad for this cat....she sits on the flower boxes of the house staring into the windows.... they leave her out in the rain sometimes too....
but I'm trying not to judge, because Gunnar used to be an outdoor cat and he would be out all the time and sometimes get caught in the rain....not on purpose....just because he was stubborn and wouldn't come in.

Not sure...but I would never let Chloe out in this weather. So yes, too cold for my cat...but don't know if it is truly dangerous for them.

Re: question for cat people....
I hate when people leave their pets outdoors in this weather. People have this idiotic idea they can handle it b/c they have fur. Well when we wear jackets and scarves and sweaters and hats, we're still freezing.
I wouldnt let your cat out for long in this weather. Maybe in the day time when there is some sun, but definitely not at night.
