question for girls who have taken clomid..

i finished my first round of clomid in early december..it did not work and am going onto round 2..so i am waiting for af..

now since i have been a kid i have never had a cycle for less than 35 days..if i got it within 40 days,that was a good month..

so i got my period nov 23rd..and tonight i went to the bathroom and guess what i saw..af??

how is that possible?? could the clomid have regulated me that much?to be under 28 days?

is af making up for lost time?..im really confused and kinda worried and will call my doc tom and hopefully she is in..

i dont know if this matters at all buti also have been really sick and think i have bronchitis..

any information would be appreciated..gina

it really depends on what type of response you had to clomid. you said it didnt work, and im assuming that meant it didnt make you ovulate. however, if it made you grow follies that didnt mature, its not entirely uncommon for you to get AF now since your hormone levels still went up and then dropped, even though you may have not successfully ovulated. its likely your lining also thickened in response to rising estrogen levels, even though they did not peak and mature an egg.

to be honest though, without monitoring to tell you what happened, its just a guessing game. i wouldnt expect that your cycle is "making up for lost time" or that your cycle is regulated by clomid, being that you likely didnt ovulate, it doesnt really work like that. it would actually make MORE sense that you did ovulate from it and just didnt get pregnant, and thats why AF is here. but like i said without monitoring to know whats going on in there, its just a crapshoot.

i wouldnt worry about it though, just consider it cycle day 1 and start over again!
