Question for Jewish Moms
Did you/are you setting up your nursery before you give birth or did you keep everything at a separate location?
If you did set up ahead of time, did you fully set up or do the basics like paint, curtains, pictures, etc and just not move in furniture until after you give birth?
Thanks!

Re: Question for Jewish Moms
I'm really not very religious, so I plan on setting everything up ahead of time.

Re: Question for Jewish Moms
I'm still debating really- at first I wasn't going to set up- maybe just paint and figure out with DH how he should do it while I am in the hospital.
but now, I think I'm going to go ahead with it.....I really don't want to be superstitious at all about this pregancy and for once in my life NOT assume the worst is always going to happen.....

Are you having a shower? Who is hosting?

Re: Question for Jewish Moms
we painted the nursery. the furniture is ready to be delivered, but dh is more supersticious than i am. we will decorate before the baby, but thats about it. my mom is going to take all of the clothes and stuff and wash them and then orgainize the nursery for me while i am in the hospital.
etd to add my mom is throwing me a shower.

I'm Jewish and DH is Catholic- I always assumed my mom would do my shower because we aren't religious and we've been to other showers of jewish friends. But my MIL (who is awesome) offered to host/arrange it and at first I was concerned that my mom would be offended- but she was like, oh yeah that's great- I always hoped she would because we don't generally do them being jewish. But, my mom is planning on helping her a lot. My parents will go along with whatever I want about the shower/nursery- hey they went along with it when I married a non jew!

I'm in a similar situation. Not overly religious, married Catholic. My mom was going to host the shower, but DH's mom said she wanted to be invloved so they are doing it together.

Re: Question for Jewish Moms
Im Jewish..DH is Protestant....both moms will host shower and they will hold all of the stuff until the babies are here. We will paint the room and order furniture, but we really don't need the nursery finished immediately because the babies will be with us in our room for a while before we put them into the nursery anyway.

Re: Question for Jewish Moms
I wrote something in re: to this last week. I am double whammied by both sides jewish and both sides not thinking its appropriate to have a shower. I really want one but looks like I am not. In terms of the babies room, our families were not religious but I think they would be very upset if I did the nursery prior so I am not even hitting that issue. I think I will keep a cradle at my moms and then bring it to my home when the babies born and then begin the nursery. SOunds like fun, huh!?!

Re: Question for Jewish Moms
I'm having a shower...I believe my mother and sister are hosting (with DH's help) and we are all Jewish. We will set up everything in the nursary. We are not very religious at all.
