Question for moms pregnant with the opposite sex of older DC
We have a 16 month DD.
Yesterday we found out that we are having a and we couldn’t be happier. When telling people we got ecstatic responses all around. But some were more ecstatic than others.
My question is, are people generally more excited over a boy? Or are people just excited when you have one of each?
I know no one really knows what other people are thinking, and I am probably being an over sensitive pregnant mom of a girl.

I think it's because you had a girl and now you having a boy.......so you have both!

I would guess it's b/c you are having one of each and lots of people think that's perfect. I am so amazed how people just project their own feelings on you, and say and act however they want when you are pg.

I think it is because you are having one of each, too. I am actually having a second DD and I think that I get the opposite - like people are thinking, "aw, that sux, another girl!" It really annoys me, actually.

I agree too. I'm also getting the same response. (My first is a boy and the second will be a girl.)

Someone congratulated us and then asked if we were going to go for the tiebreaker?
I know that was meant in a joking matter but most people just say oh now you are done as if it was a mission...I want a third!

I think people get excited with any answer: 2 girls: how nice... sisters 2 boys: how nice... brothers 1 of each... how nice: you get both.
