Question for moms with 2 under 2
my DC will be 18 months apart. I'm assuming I'm going to need to buy another crib right? DD won't be ready for a bed at 18 months, will she?

Re: Question for moms with 2 under 2
my nephew was in a toddler bed at 20 mths so if you keep your new baby in the bassinet for 2 mths maybe Hannah can go in a toddler bed .

It's up to you. We put Roman in his new bedroom with a toddler bed which converts to a twin when he was around 15 months. He transitioned beautifully. He had about 6 months of sleeping in his bed before Clover was born.

Re: Question for moms with 2 under 2
We got Sarah a new crib that converts to a toddler bed and then a full size bed. She's 2.5 and we're going to change it to a toddler bed soon. She has not ever tried to climb out or anything.
Andy on the other hand (16 months) is already trying to break out of the crib.

we did the same. he was in the bassinet for 4months. so it worked well. and he LOVED going into the big boy bed.

Re: Question for moms with 2 under 2
My 2 are 20 months apart. We did not buy another crib and transitioned DD to a twin bed at 17-18 months so she got used to it before baby came and wouldn't feel like she was getting kicked out of her crib. We had no problem and are so happy we didn't get another crib. Also, the baby won't need the crib for 3 mos if you use a bassinet, Buys you a little more time. Congrats by the way!

Re: Question for moms with 2 under 2
Mine will be about 19 months apart and I'm buying a new set. DD furniture grows with her so I don't see the sense of buying a toddler bed instead of a crib.

Re: Question for moms with 2 under 2
Mine are 20 months apart and we didnt get a second crib. The baby slept in the co-sleeper for 4 months and Nate was in the crib. Then we got Nate a toddler bed and transitioned the baby to the crib.
I wanted a twin, but there was no way the crib, bed, dresser and changing table would fit comfortably in their room.

Re: Question for moms with 2 under 2
21 months apart. I didn't. I had #2 in the bassinet for 3 months & then (at about 2 yo) moved #1 to a twin bed.

Re: Question for moms with 2 under 2
My DD went in to a big girl bed at 18 months. We just bought one of those rails for the side so she can't roll out.
She actually sleeps better in her bed than she ever did in her crib!

Re: Question for moms with 2 under 2
My eldest was in a toddler bed before 18 m onths..and the twins were younger than 2..So I dont really see why you could put her in a big girl bed.

Re: Question for moms with 2 under 2
I officially put DD into her toddler bed at 14 months. At that point DS was 2 months and getting very big for the bassinet.
We actually introduced the toddler bed around 6 months or so because she wasn't sleeping iin the crib. We didn't want to buy another crib.

Re: Question for moms with 2 under 2
We bought each DC their own bedroom set, including a convertible bed. This way, it doesn't matter when one transitions. They are totally independent of the other's bed stage.
