Question for parents that both work?
I was wondering if you have your children in daycare or a private babysitter?? Just wondering what it cost for private and daycare? Just trying to get ideas. Hubby and are starting to really talk about starting the family but I was just wondering how you made your decision.
TIA Denise

Re: Question for parents that both work?
Our DD is in daycare. Its roughly 1100 per month. Private was much more expensive, but I'm glad now that we went the route we did.
Its hard financially, but it just kind of works out. If we waited until we were ready financially, we'd be waiting a long time.
Good luck with your decision!

Re: Question for parents that both work?
We do in-home daycare. Because it is my Dad's wife that runs the daycare out of their home, we don't pay the going rate for this service but we did look into others. Our neighbor also does in-home care and she was going to charge us $250/wk.

Re: Question for parents that both work?
For one child at Tutor Time, we pay $785 a month and this is for 3 days a week w/early drop off (obviously for 2 children we pay more but I'm giving you a figure for 2)
Originally, we had my mil & my mom and a girlfriend watching Delaney but with juggling everyone's schedule, we decided that we needed a more structured arrangement because if someone had a conflict we had to figure out a schedule. With Tutor Time, we knew we'd always have coverage and didn't have to worry about schedules.
Now, I'm not sure when you are due, however, if you're due sometime soon, you may want to start looking at places because I know when my new daughter was born, I was told they wouldn't have a space for her until July (fortunately a space opened up when I needed it). What typically happens in places like Tutor Time, alot of school teacher moms pull their kids out for the summer and openings come up but they run the risk of losing their spot in September again. So I suggest you selecting your place before September time frame (JMO). Hope this helps.

Re: Question for parents that both work?
Isabella is enrolled in Loving and Learning in Oceanside five days a week. We pay 1300 bucks for up to 8 hours a day. It's a GREAT environment and she loves it.
We started looking in the beginning of January and were lucky enough to have a spot for us two weeks later...

Re: Question for parents that both work?
It is roughly $1K per month for full-time center type daycare. You do get a $5K tax deduction if you both work full time..which helps a bit, but not as much as I would like.

not a mom yet, but we have found a daycare center for when I go back to work for $1200 per month for five days a week, full time. we did not look into private care.
