Question for the househunters

What areas are you looking in?
I am just curious, I am having trouble deciding myself.

Re: Question for the househunters

Nassau primarily. We both work in NYC. DH wanted Queens but actually our commute wouldn't neccessarily go down. We also want a middle class blue collar community. Areas that we possibly could swing

Levittown (taxes insane though for no basements)

Oceanside (small SMALL land for what we could swing)

Lynbrook (haven't dropping in price enough)

Floral Park (not best LIRR, but there is some stuff)

Farmingdale (commute getting a little long, plus hate that there is a village tax)

Hicksville (prices high, but taxes better than Levittown)

Merrick, Rockville Centre, East Meadow or Seaford too.

i live in Farmingdale - you only pay the village tax if you live in the village of Fdale, which is very small! but taxes are about the same as levittown, but most of the houses have basements.

Re: Question for the househunters

actually, to be close to train station you are in the village. We would want to be within a couple of miles of the village, but I also stated that its a little too East for us

um, i know. i live in farmingdale. i think the village is smaller than you think - plus thats not the nicest area in farmingdale anyway (near the train station).

but the train is less than an hour to penn.

Re: Question for the househunters

I actually take the Ronkonkoma line now (out of CI) and that line always gets backed up. I would like to move our commute to more like 30 minutes which hicksville and closer in would do. But thanks
