Question for the really Italian girls....
where can I find some of those really nice handmade/homemade doilies? I'd like to buy nice looking ones for my bedroom and the ones that have been passed down are ratty and old. Maybe there is a website I can go to? Or can I pay someones nonna to knit me some? LOL Please let me know...and thank you!

Re: Question for the really Italian girls....
i just asked my mom - she said that the place where I got my wedding favors/invitations has them
A Gift of Love 6611 Fresh Pond Rd Ridgewood, NY 11385 (718) 386-3857
they are closed for renovations at the moment and she said they are a little expensive but INCREDIBLE
I was just going through mine the other day. . . I have so many that my aunts made me since I am getting married in a few months and I even bought gorgeous ones in an outdoor market in Sicily. . . I really love them even though they are "old fashioned"
I even got these long straight ones to hang from the shelves in my china closet ( one day )

Wow I didn't think you could buy them in a store!
All the ones my parents have were made by my great grandmother.

Re: Question for the really Italian girls....
Do a search. There's a chain of malls in Italy (I think Ipercoop is the name of the food store inside each of the malls) and there's always a linens store inside that sells them.
That stuff is SO CHEAP to buy in Italy.
