Question for those preggo with babies under 2

Are you really worried about leaving your baby when you go into the hospital? My daughter just turned one in November, and I have never been away from her for a night. I trust my dh to take good care of her, but I'm gonna miss her so much and dont want her to feel like I left her, even though Billy already promised me he would bring her to the hospital daily.

I wasn't nervous. My mom came over to care for her and I completely trust my mom. Sarah was 16 months at the time. I had a vaginal so I was home in 2 days.

We chose not to bring her to the hospital. When I had Sarah my roommate had a kid a little over 2 and the hysterics when the dad tried to take him home at night was too hard for me, and it wasn't even my kid.

My friend's 3 year old also got really upset about leaving mommy at the hosptial.

My mom and DH made sure not to talk about me in front of her and while she was super excited to see me when I walked in the door she was fine playing with my mom or DH when I wasn't there.

Good luck! I know it's not easy. I missed her like crazy and looked at her picture a lot. I had a framed pic on the nightstand and a pic of her in the bassinet. ANd drove DH and my mom crazy asking abou t her.

I have been thinking about this also..I have never left my DD and am very worried about it since she is a total mommies girl. Im going to have my mother stay here and watch her while DH works, but Im still worried....Im sure they will be fine!

I would say now is the best time to get her used to other people. Start recruiting family members & friends as babysitters.

I was gone for 2 days and wound up back in the hospital with the baby for a week. There is a definite guilt factor. Keeping the focus on why it was important for me for my son to have a sibling helped me tremendously.

When I had Jeremy emma was 2 1/2. I was so worried but DH brought her to me every day and i talked to her on the phone every night. It was nice to have a break.

This time DH has to play mommy and see what I deal with 24-7 for 4 days. I can't wait

I"m not worried at all. He will be with the ILs. He's spent the night there before and he's there all the time. I know he will be in good hands.

I was just talking about this with my family over the weekend. Jiavana will be 10 mths when the baby is born and I know I am going to miss her alot.

I'm not worried. She'll be 20 mos. when the baby is born and I've been apart from her for 4 nights in total since she's been born and she always did fine. But...

I had a c/s with Katherine and stayed in the hospital for 4 nights. I CANNOT fathom being away from her for that many nights in a row! This is one of the several reasons I'm hoping for VBAC.
