Re: Question for those thst painted their moldings white
We used BM's White Dove for most of our house...it's not a stark white.
We recently hired someone to do some painting and he used BM's Decorator's White and it's definitely much brighter! I actually happen to like the brighter white, so now I have to repaint all of our moldings and trim. Or pay the painter to do it.

Whatever color you choose you should get one with a little shine to it. I am not saying glossy but something. My DH does home improvements and does a LOT of trim work, I hate shine but I listened to him and it looks sooooooo good.

A "Semi-gloss" is recommended for trim & moulding.

I plan to use a semi gloss....I just didn't want a bright bright white.

BM White Dove is what all of trim is in our home. We recently switched from semigloss to gloss for all of our trim and are so much happier with how it pops

atrium white. It is not bright.
Super White and Decorators white are very bright white, so stay away from them.

I recently used this too, and Super White and was surprised to see how bright white they were compared to the moldings in my house (atrium white).
I too actually prefer the birght whites as it seemed the Atrium white was a bit yellowy and dingy (when next to a bright white).
But when next to a color on the walls, it all just looks WHITE.

BM Winter Snow in semi-gloss. Most of the colors in my house are grey-based and while this is definitely white, it is a grey-white so it works together nicely. I didn't want anything yellow based.

Yes, some have gray bases and some have yellow bases.

We used the semi-gloss BM White Dove as well and it looks really great against our wall colors.
